Jamie's the child of James' first marriage- a politically motivated pile of crap that left James a widower with an infant. Jamie is his mother's and maternal's grandfather's heir- so James thought his second set of children should be his heirs</i>. James second marriage, to Elizabeth, ten years later, was much happier than his first. Jamie went to a different school and mostly lives his life separately from Elias and Brian.
